Last time, volunteers from across the greater Chicagoland region came to Kish Fen to participate in an herbicide training field day. What an uplifting start to growing season stewardship, working together to learn best strategies in delivering this essential medicine to the ecosystem.
This week, all are invited to join in a strategizing and mapping walk. We’ll chart different plant communities and develop a plan of prioritization for the next few months.
For anyone brand new to restoration or to the site, this is a great opportunity to get oriented and dive right in.
We’ll meet at 9am at the end of Palmer Drive in the Village of Lakewood, and work until about 12pm. Clipboards, maps, and pens will be provided, as well as good ecological discussion and friendly company :)
Wear sturdy, waterproof shoes/boots if you have them, and bring water and a snack if you’d like.
Please RSVP to KishFenFriends@gmail.com if you are thinking about coming.
